SOUND FACTory

Hmmm...

That is just what I feel when I hear this TraCK.  It takes me back to the first time I truly experienced SoundFactory...The ORIGINAL Sound Factory on 27th Street...I believe.  I had to have been a Freshman in college...and if I am not mistaken...I was there with Marc, Sean, and Jon...lol...and [Big] Rob.  Those were the crew from Morehouse/Baldwin, LI!!!  All House-Heads, Marc and I bonded quickly on everything from music to family, he and Rob grew up with my God Brother, Bobby Petagrew.
This was probably weekend of the Jones Beach Picnic, so I was staying in Long Island.
Long after we ditched the hot, crowded beach...returned to our respective homes to change for the night, we hit 2 clubs - the first I don't remember and SOUND FACTORY.

The thing about the SOUND FACTORY was that it was the first time I was seeing all of these different types of people TRULY GROOOOOOVING, GIGGIN' to One Another...with SKILLS...lol...and LOVING IT!!!  The TRUE HOUSE HEADS were out and the DJs Knew it, so the THUMP WAS...WIIIIICKED!!!!  IN MY BONES...Can't Stay Still...lol

I remember THIS SONG as the CHORUS for the A-HA Moment ALL AROUND ME. 

 ALL of US were DANCING...HARD.  From the Prettiest of Girls to THe Hardest of Brothers and Boriquas...Gay Kids Voguing next to the Guido and Guidette...Black/white/Asian/Latin/et al...Ailey Kids...next to African Dancers...House Heads dominating the floor, though.  

It was THEN...RIGHT THEN...I FELL in LOVE with HOUSE...WITH MUSIC...WITH MOVING PEOPLE...and the RELEASE...JOY...EUPHORIA firmly fixed on the faces of those caught up in the mix.

Magic.

Just let it ride...You can't HELP but move...lol.  

I had to admit...when thinking back on it...we were all kinda' doing the same BASIC..."Swing Dance"...[mastered by HipHop Star RedHead KingPen].

We all had GIRBAUD jeans on.  I started my BIG T-Shirt Thing then.  We also had the heavy shoes and some form of the HighTop fade...coming back into VOGUE now, actually.

This song...this moment and all that it conjured...forced me to know that I HAVE TRULY LIVED.  My Life has been RICH at EVERY TURN.  I have Lived SO MUCH in the CURRENT...;-)...that I have not truly taken stock of the FULLNESS of my TALE. 

I have to do that...now.
